Calgary New Home Prices Climb Higher In August

The census metropolitan area of Calgary (+0.5%) recorded the largest monthly price increase in August, according to the New Housing Price Index released by Statistics Canada.  Calgary area builders reported that land development costs, as well as strong market conditions and increased demand, were the main reasons for the price gain.

Year-over-year, Calgary (+6.8%) continued to lead the country in annual growth.  By comparison, Edmonton prices declined -0.1%.
