Statistics Canada released data this morning showing that Calgary new home prices posted the greatest gain in Canada for October.
Between September and October, Calgary’s NHPI increased 0.1% and was up 6.1% year-over-year, by and far leading the cities surveyed.
For Canada overall, the New Housing Price Index (NHPI) rose 0.1% in October, following a flat September.
On a year-over-year basis, the NHPI rose 1.5% in the 12 months to October, making it the smallest annual increase in more than 3 years.
Ottawa, Victoria & Vancouver were the 3 cities with prices lower than the year before.
