The number of residential mortgages in arrears by three or more months in Alberta dropped to it’s lowest level since 2009 according to the latest report out by the Canadian Bankers Association.
There were 3,418 arrears in April representing 0.65% of the total mortgages. That was down from the 3,609 (0.69%) recorded in the previous month. Year-over-year, the total amount of arrears decreased by -17.5%
The number of arrears dropped in all the provinces between March & April. In Canada, it dropped from 16,043 (0.37%) to 15,367 (0.35%).
